The SAM system is a comprehensive strategic management philosophy that has been developed into a process. It is supported by a software system and provides the environment to:

  1. structure the strategy of the organization,
  2. align the organisation to its strategy, and
  3. create a total system for strategy-derived performance management throughout the organization.

SAM is offered as a fully implemented strategic management system. This includes software licensing, structuring of the organisation's strategy, setting up and commissioning of the SAM system, customisation or special interfacing to legacy systems, training of users and, if required, maintenance of the installation.

  1. structure the performance objectives of the organization through all levels,
  2. align individual performance objectives to the performance objectives of the organisation, and
  3. create a total system for strategically aligned performance management throughout the organization

PAM is offered as a fully implemented strategic management system. Risk insurance costs are high, as is the potential cost of uncontrolled development of risk situations. So, the case for companies to directly and effectively influence their risk exposure is compelling, and more so for those that are in the business of exposing themselves to the risk of others. This can only be achieved if the nature and seriousness of the exposure at any point, the actions needed to alleviate the exposure and the efficacy of those actions are clearly understood and known at any point in time.

The Risk Alignment and Management System (RAM) comprises a process facilitated by a software system that enables you to:

  • Structure business risks and the interventions required
  • Align resources to execution of these interventions
  • Manage these resources for minimisation of risk

RAM is offered as a fully implemented risk management system. This includes software licensing, structuring of the organisationšs risks, setting up and commissioning of the RAM system, customisation or special interfacing to legacy systems, training of users and, if required, maintenance of the installation.

SLA's are notoriously poorly managed, usually very periodically, or on the basis of abject failure of one or more critical business functions of the client.

Continuous, near real time and pro-active management is, however desirable, difficult to achieve because of the number of variables that need to be specifically identified and measured.

SAM SLA provides a process and software system that enables both the service provider and the client to accurately, pro-actively and objectively define and monitor actual performance on the agreed service targets, and even factors that may lead to failure.

Coached by professionals, managers get the unique opportunity to gain years of management experience in days. In a simulated, but highly realistic business environment, players, as the management teams of their businesses, have to steer it to success while handling the challenges of the broader economic environment, the market dynamics, the characteristics of their field or industry, their own company strengths and weaknesses and the actions of their competition.

We offer both corporate in-house programmes, uniquely designed according to the organisation's development needs, and group-based workouts focusing on specific management and leadership themes aimed at the individual participant. The Business Challenge also serves as a powerful technique to complement academic training, providing managers and leaders with the opportunity to bridge the gap between theory and practise.

Depending on the specific design of the session, we will achieve one or more of the following results:

  • Players will see the bigger business picture, and understand better how their decisions impact on the bottom line of their company.
  • They will develop a profound insight into the complex dynamics at play in the market.
  • They will experience the importance of differentiation, and learn how to leverage the value chain to achieve that.
  • They will develop an understanding of the importance of customer service, and how the total value chain has to be aligned to optimally satisfy the customer's needs.
  • They will begin to understand what the important issues are when managing a business, and how to focus their effort.
  • They will learn the skill of business problem solving: how to get to the root of the problem, to identify potential solutions, choose the best alternative and focus on the important issues.
  • They will learn how to analyse and interpret management information (forecasts, sales reports, financial statements).
  • They will develop a feel for the longer-term impact of their decisions.
  • They will gain confidence in business decision-making in high stress situations.
  • They will experience the value of information sharing and coordination.

Our experience has shown the Business Challenge to be unrivalled internationally in realism and representation of the dynamics and complexity of management decision-making. It is a product that wins rave reviews whereever we go.

Leadership Talent Identification is a reality-based talent identification and development process. It identifies leadership talent, and provides a clear platform for devising long-term strategies for the development and retention of leadership talent. As such, it is also valuable for processes such as succession planning and key staff identification.

The LTI is a two-day competence assessment process based on an interactive computer simulation designed to realistically mimic conditions in a business environment.

While participants are attending to the simulated business, their natural behavioral style as well as their competence to deal with the tasks at hand are assessed.

After completion of the LTI each delegate and/or company receives a report that details the evaluation criteria and provides both quantitative and qualitative feedback on each competence. The report contains behavioural evaluation elements that reflect how players conduct themselves, and describes the impact that team members have on each other.

LTI was jointly developed by Quanto Strategies and Enterprise Insight.

High Performance Team Building focuses on improvement of team spirit and team cohesion, but also looks at important business aspects of teamwork and co-operation. The process is designed to teach team members the skills required to work together effectively, which is done by combining experiential learning with a theoretical base. This all takes place within the context of the interactive computer-based business simulation that facilitates translation of the principles learned in the workshop to the work environment. Each member of the team will be evaluated in terms of the role they play within the team. The team members evaluate themselves to see the impact that their role has on the team's ability to function properly. Both awareness of the team and self-insight to the nature of the participant's contribution is therefore created. The action plans or strategies, which the team take back to the work place, not only improve their functioning, but are also a way to ensure that the skills learned at the team building are translated into the work environment.

Our unique approach to team building ensure that actual team dynamics is revealed. Many other forms of team-building are fun and do add to team spirit, but they tell very little about the team dynamics pertaining to a work environment, and therefore may not have a high impact on improvement of performance in the team.

HPTB is offered in alliance with behavioural scientists from Quanto Strategy Solutions.

We make use of the SAM philosophy to help our clients to derive a set of well thought-through strategic objectives aimed at long-term sustainable competitive advantage.

This consultation service is structured along a number of sessions with the client (usually three to four). These sessions are used to confirm the client's business environment, perform a SWOT analysis, and formulate the strategic vision. Thereafter the top-level strategic objectives are derived and unpacked to a point where they are understandable, communicable and manageable (measurable).

The deliverable is a document summarising the client's strategy as a strategy map.

This initial strategy formulation can be followed-up with further sessions to confirm the alignment of the client's organisation to these objectives.
